For some reason, the original article, which was supposed to be about "Zoroastrians" in the US, ended up being mostly about Parsis. Which is too bad. Because there's many Zoroastrians originally from Iran, in the US and Canada. A lot of the issues raised about conversion are more relevant for Parsis than for Iranian Zoroastrians (conversion to Zoroastrianism in Iran is not allowed, so thats not an issue in their home country).

Its important to note that Parsis, and Zoroastrians in general, are not all successful and wealthy -- although the ones who are made it easier for the ones who were not. But there are many who are neither wealthy, nor anglophile.

Thanks for the clarification at the end.
I think you did paint with a "broad brush"
As a Parsi, I agree to a lot of what you have written. But you have to keep in mind that the article itself has a very pro-US Parsi bent.
It talks about Parsis in the US without really taking a lot of the background which is all set in Bombay.
However thanks for the very thought provoking blogpost.
We will link to it.
